This piece is full of fire, flashing from every angle and still looking great in low light. When we got the rough fire agate, we weren’t entirely sure of its origin—it’s either from Deer Creek or Slaughter Mountain in Arizona, though we’re leaning toward Slaughter Mountain. The stone has a triangular shape, not perfectly symmetrical, since we focused more on cutting and carving to highlight its best features rather than sticking to strict geometry. From a normal viewing distance, it shows mostly red or rusty tones with plenty of crackle—where the color bar splits during formation to reveal hues from the layer beneath. Here, you’ll spot yellow, orange, and green, and if you look closely, maybe even tiny flecks of blue or purple, though they’re subtle and not usually visible. It’s a stone that’s fun to get to know. Weighing 16 carats, the pendant measures 22 mm by 28 mm in its natural hanging position and about 8 mm at its thickest point. It’s custom carved and handcrafted in our shop and comes with a 24" sterling silver chain as shown.
