There won’t be another like this for a long time. We acquired it years ago, and it’s been part of our private collection ever since. One day, we decided it needed a little touch-up. The original craftsman had planned to make a spoon from it, but an inclusion made it unsuitable for his purpose. When we recut it, we shaped it into a true oval and flattened the back as much as possible. This double-sided gem has similar colors on both sides. By perfecting the oval shape and adjusting the dome, we removed the flaw that halted the first attempt at making it special. Now it’s ready for its forever home. Finding a fire agate shaped well enough for a cabochon oval—especially of this gem grade—is rare. It measures 14mm x 10mm and comes paired with a 14k white gold chain.
